講座人介紹：

Tony Pearson，University of Leicester，前國(guó)際處處長(zhǎng)、教授。Tony Pearson于2011年第一次來我校訪問，自2015年起每年均來訪，為我校碩博士生講授英美文化、國(guó)際會(huì)議交流等課程，并開辦講座，廣受學(xué)生好評(píng)。他有法律學(xué)士學(xué)位和歷史碩士學(xué)位，在英國(guó)萊斯特大學(xué)擔(dān)任國(guó)際處處長(zhǎng)一職多年，并開拓了該校和美洲、亞洲多個(gè)國(guó)家的合作項(xiàng)目。

講座內(nèi)容：

Tony’s home has always been in the UK but he has travelled in the USA, has relatives there and, like a lot of British people, feels that he is familiar with the country. He is fascinated by the way in which the two countries have diverged but maintain a “special relationship” even if it is far more important to the UK than to the USA. His particular concern is to relate the US and the UK to developments in China. In the first part of his talk he sets out some of the important issues of economics and politics and then looks for a Chinese perspective by asking his audience for their views on more general questions which he puts to them. In this way he hopes to draw out some of the many interesting differences of daily life and promote an understanding of them.
