Kim DeBacco教授2019年7月至今任加州大學(xué)洛杉磯分校線上教學(xué)中心教學(xué)設(shè)計師,2018-2019年任加州大學(xué)河濱分校教學(xué)設(shè)計中心負責(zé)人,2008-2018年在加州大學(xué)圣塔芭芭拉分校教師發(fā)展中心教學(xué)顧問、培訓(xùn)中心學(xué)術(shù)項目主任。在此之前,她任職于澳大利亞樂卓博大學(xué)學(xué)術(shù)發(fā)展中心,并獲得悉尼大學(xué)教學(xué)中心線上教學(xué)部終身教授職位。早期職業(yè)生涯中,她是一名外語教師,熟練掌握6名語言,對教育技術(shù)及語言學(xué)習(xí)有著濃厚興趣。她的學(xué)術(shù)興趣集中在線上教學(xué)教師身份、混合式教學(xué)及叫許額開發(fā)人與與教師互惠關(guān)系等方面。近年來,她在學(xué)術(shù)期刊上發(fā)表論文30余篇,在國際學(xué)術(shù)會議、教學(xué)研討上宣讀論文100余篇,擔(dān)任澳大利亞教育技術(shù)、加拿大高等教育、在線學(xué)習(xí)和數(shù)字媒體、高等教育研究與發(fā)展(HERD)等8個學(xué)術(shù)期刊審稿人。
講座內(nèi)容:
In early 2020 and around the globe, university language instructors made the rapid move to remote teaching due to the coronavirus epidemic and “stay-at-home” measures. Quick replacement decisions were made and most US universities were also quick to distinguish “remote teaching” from “online teaching”. In this presentation I will explore the differences between remote and online teaching, and consider the implications for teaching foreign languages. I will also present a range of research-based considerations to help foreign language teachers make informed choices about about how to teach asynchronously (online, flexible timing), synchronously (live or via videoconferencing) or in a blended (hybrid) mode.
