講座人介紹：

Tony Q.S. Quek分別獲得東京工業(yè)大學(xué)電氣與電子工程學(xué)士和碩士學(xué)位。在麻省理工學(xué)院，他獲得了電氣工程和計算機科學(xué)博士學(xué)位。目前，他是新加坡科技與設(shè)計大學(xué)(SUTD)鄭曾文講座教授和ST工程杰出教授。他還擔(dān)任ISTD負(fù)責(zé)人，未來通信研發(fā)項目主任，SUTD AI項目部門負(fù)責(zé)人以及SUTD- zju IDEA副主任。目前研究方向包括無線通信與網(wǎng)絡(luò)、6G、網(wǎng)絡(luò)智能、非地面網(wǎng)絡(luò)、開放無線接入網(wǎng)等。

Quek博士一直積極參與組織和主持會議，并在許多國際會議中擔(dān)任TPC成員。他目前擔(dān)任IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications的領(lǐng)域編輯。他是IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications 的執(zhí)行編輯、IEEE Transactions on Communications 的編輯以及IEEE Wireless Communications Letters的編輯。

Quek博士獲得了2008年P(guān)hilip Yeo杰出成就獎、2012年IEEE William R. Bennett獎、2016年IEEE信號處理學(xué)會青年作者最佳論文獎、2017年CTTC早期成就獎、2017年IEEE ComSoc AP杰出論文獎、2020年IEEE通信學(xué)會青年作者最佳論文獎、2020年IEEE Stephen O. Rice獎、2020年諾基亞客座教授和2022年IEEE信號處理學(xué)會最佳論文獎。他是IEEE Fellow和新加坡工程院院士。

講座內(nèi)容：

“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.” – A quote by a well-known author named Alan Cohen. This has been my driving force in my life to guide me in many decisions making in life. In this talk, I will share my personal education experience, my research experience as a graduate student at MIT, my career as a scientist in A*STAR, my faculty experience at SUTD, and my recent directorship for Future Communications R&D Programme. Hopefully, this can serve as learning lesson, especially in the world of uncertainties now.
